Emergency airway management in critically ill patients outside the controlled setting of the Operating Room is associated with a higher incidence of difficult intubations, ranging anywhere from 10 percent to 22 percent. This course will provide a multidisciplinary didactic lecture from our faulty and provide hands-on experience with different techniques and equipment for managing the airway. This continuing medical education course is designed to pro?vide participants with an interactive hands-on experience in percutaneous tracheostomy and advance airway management using cadavers. This course will address very specific skill sets that will help clinicians improve management of their patients? care by offering simulation airway training which is associated with better outcomes. The lecturers and instructors are members of our multi-disciplinary faculty with formal training in a wide spectrum of airway and interventional pulmonary procedures. This full day course will begin with didactic lectures of fundamental knowledge related to these procedures. The second half of the course will provide participants valuable hands-on training with our interventional pulmonary staff in small groups.
