About Course

Comprehensive Review Program:
National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) Examination

The National Registry requires that testing for registration be completed within two years (24 months) of program completion and that each of the two parts be successfully completed with one year (12 months) of each other.

American Health offers two options for NREMT Exam preparation and review:

  1. A 12-month EMT/Paramedics comprehensive ‘refresher’ course that provides a diploma from one of American Health’s prestigious educational partners who will teach the entire course on-site in the Middle East.
  2. A one-month review program delivered within the required 24-month time frame for students to prepare for their NR Exam.

What Will You Learn?

  • NREMT Certification Testing Background
  • The National Registry is a not-for-profit, independent, non-governmental agency. Its free-standing structure is carefully guarded in order to preserve the integrity of the National Registration process. The National Registry certification is a widely respected achievement used in many states in lieu of local testing as a prerequisite for state licensure.
  • The use of the National Registry exams compares the student to a national standard and promotes reciprocity and mobility for EMTs and Paramedics.
  • American Health and its educational partners strongly support the National Registry process. NREMT Certification examinations are intended to evaluate the competence of EMS practitioners at a variety of levels:
  • First Responder
  • EMT-Basic
  • EMT-Intermediate/85
  • Advanced EMT
  • EMT-Intermediate/99
  • Paramedic
  • The tests address content areas defined and validated by subject-matter experts, educators, and individuals working in EMS fields; and, they include two elements:
  • a computer adaptive cognitive exam and
  • a multi-station practical examination.
  • As the tests provide only one source of information regarding examinee competence, they are used in conjunction with other indicators of training and experience in the granting of certification.
