Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree Program

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree Program is designed for registered nurses who wish to advance their clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and professional qualifications through graduate-level nursing education in the United States.

Upon successful completion of American Health’s English Language and NCLEX-RN Preparation Program, and after obtaining U.S. Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, qualified nurses holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree may become eligible to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing degree through one of American Health’s educational partners.

Program Overview

An MSN is a prestigious and highly respected qualification that prepares nurses for advanced roles in clinical practice, leadership, education, administration, and healthcare management.

Graduate nursing education emphasizes:

  • Advanced clinical knowledge and decision-making
  • Evidence-based nursing practice
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Healthcare policy and systems improvement
  • Quality and patient safety initiatives
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Research and innovation in healthcare

MSN-prepared nurses are recognized as leaders within the profession and are often sought for positions that influence patient outcomes, organizational performance, and healthcare delivery systems.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT)

Students enrolled in eligible MSN programs may participate in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), subject to university and immigration requirements.

CPT provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience while completing their degree program. Eligible students may work in approved healthcare settings, allowing them to:

  • Apply classroom knowledge in real-world environments
  • Develop leadership and professional competencies
  • Gain practical healthcare experience
  • Strengthen clinical and administrative skills
  • Earn income while pursuing their studies

This combination of academic learning and practical application enhances students’ preparation for advanced nursing roles.

Optional Practical Training (OPT)

Following graduation, eligible MSN students may participate in Optional Practical Training (OPT), subject to applicable U.S. immigration regulations and institutional requirements.

OPT provides graduates with the opportunity to work full-time in healthcare settings and further develop their professional expertise.

Benefits of OPT include:

  • Practical experience in U.S. healthcare organizations
  • Application of advanced nursing knowledge and leadership skills
  • Professional networking opportunities
  • Enhanced career readiness
  • Exposure to diverse healthcare environments and best practices

This experience helps graduates bridge the gap between academic achievement and professional practice while strengthening their credentials in the global healthcare marketplace.
